An outstanding lizard brooch from the Klondike gold rush town of Dawson, Alaska.

This gold nugget brooch (circa 1896-1899) is 18k gold with turquoise eyes. The reverse of the piece is marked "Dawson 18k."

The brooch measures 1.7 inches from head to tail by 0.7 inches wide. It is in good condition; however, the pin catch and one of the turquoise eyes are later replacements.
